Instagram Stories reaches 150 million daily users, which is the same amount as the last number announced by Snapchat, the app Instagram copies. In addition reaching a large audience, Instagram announced the launch of skippable ads mixed in to stories according to TechCrunch.

Ads appear to be an unclickable five second photos along with 15-second video ads, all of which appear between different people’s stories that can be easily skipped. Ads that Instagram are testing w
ith include companies like Netflix, General Motors, Capital One and a few more.

Instagram users won’t see an ad until they watch a few of their friends stories
in a sequence. The growth of stories is important to Instagram and they are eager to see if they create revenue.
