Since launching in January, Vine has made a tremendous impact on the social media scene. On Tuesday, the app was updated to reflect significant changes that make it more interesting for users – new use of the front-facing camera and the ability to mention other users.
One change is the ability to switch between front-facing and rear-facing cameras, as a way of appealing to iOS users. With a dual-arrow symbol occupying the lower left corner of the screen, Vine users on an iPhone or an iPad now have a more convenient way of shooting their six-second loops from the front, and can switch between the two as many times as they can fit in the clip.
The app also now includes a mentioning feature, where users can tag other users in a clip. It’s a simple process; all you need to do is add a “@” symbol before the user’s name. If a user is mentioned in a clip, they will get a notification in their Activity feed for their viewing pleasure.
The newly updated app is available in the App Store for free download.
