In our last blog, we went through how to create your first TikTok. Be sure to check that out to get down the basics of starting on the platform. If you are in need of some inspiration on what kind of content to post, look no further! We have rounded up 5 brands killing it on TikTok right now and some ideas on what is working well for them on the platform.

Brands to Look To For Inspiration on TikTok

1. Revolve

Revolve is an online clothing retailer that is fairly new to TikTok, only having posted their first video about two months ago. Since then, the brand has accumulated almost 60K followers on the platform. Their method of driving users to interact with their posts is by running giveaways.

A TikTok they posted in early May has recieved almost 25K views and roughly 3,000 comments and likes. The brand made a TikTok offering a $1000 dollar gift card giveaway exclusively to those who came across the video. The catch was users had to follow their account and tag three friends in the comments to be entered to win. Doing this allowed the brand to acquire new followers as well as gain exposure through the comment section.

2. Fenty

Rihanna, who you may know better from her hit songs like “Umbrella” and “SOS,” created a beauty line in 2017. In March, the singer turned beauty mogul, announced the launch of the Fenty Beauty House. This is an actual house for TikTok influencers to live in that is solely dedicated to creating content for Fenty Beauty.

Because of this, Fenty Beauty’s TikTok account is constantly pushing out new collaborative and creative content. Although this step may not be attainable for a smaller brand, you can still grab inspiration from one of their hundreds of TikToks.

In this video, the brand promoted a flash sale happening on their website- a quick way to alert customers as well as drive traffic to their website.

3. Dunkin’

Dunkin’ is a great brand to look at if you want to utilize user generated content for your TikTok. In their latest post, the coffee chain gave a shoutout to graduates who were photographed sipping one of their beverages in their caps and gowns. What was a great way to give a shoutout to fans was also a perfect way to make an easy TikTok that took little effort on their end.

The brand reposts videos created various TikTok users (presumingly with their permission). A perk of this is, if users see a major brand like Dunkin’ is reposted user generated content, it may encourage them to upload a TikTok worthy of the brand reposting. This tactic could very well have customers running out to grab a donut or iced coffee to use as a prop in their TikTok.

It also doesn’t hurt that one of the brand’s biggest fans is Charli D’amelio, the app’s most popular user with almost 57 million followers. The teen posts TikToks from time to time sporting on of the brands recognizable cups in her hand. Although not every brand can get D’amelio on their marketing team, there is inspiration to take away from here. As a smaller brand, it is possible to collaborate with smaller accounts to try and spread the word about your product or service!

4. Pura Vida Bracelets

Pura Vida has raked in over 70K followers and accumulated 527.8K total likes on TikTok. The jewelry brand focuses their TikTok content on one thing- promotion. Their profile is to the point and goal oriented. The Costa Rica based brand includes a direct link to their online store as well as a code exclusively offered to TikTok users. Offering an exclusive code makes their TikTok users feel like they’ve found a hidden gem. By following the brand on TikTok, customers are alerted of these special sales as well as given an early peak into new releases and give aways.

Pura Vida’s TikTok clips show off new jewelry sets, give aways and tutorials. The reason Pura Vida makes the cut on this list is for the inspiration that can be found for smaller businesses. Not everyone reading this has a brand as big as this one, but the kind of content they put out can be easily replicated by anyone. Head over to their TikTok account to see what I’m talking about!

5. Sabra

Sabra is a perfect example of a brand hoping on all the latest trends! If you aren’t familiar with TikTok, the app frequently sees trends that flood the FYP. The average user posts them, but the trendiest brands will utilize these trends for their business’s TikTok. This can be a fun way to show your fans and customers that you are “hip” and stay with trends. Often times, these trends have an audio that ties them together. Because TikTok allows users to search for specific audio and only scroll through videos that use that audio, this can be a great tool to gain exposure. If the audio is popular, you have a good chance of having your video found in other ways than the FYP.

In the TikTok below, Sabra followed a popular TikTok trend where users place a snack in front of their toddler and test their patience. This trend was used by thousands of users and still is a hit across the board. By following a trend, you know that users already like to see this kind of content, so you will not need to worry if your video will be hit or miss. As you can see, this method worked well given that this TikTok received over 65K views!

Brands everywhere are taking advantage of the niche audience on TikTok. So what are you waiting for? Get creative and have some fun. There really is no rhyme or reason to TikTok. Unlike platforms like Instagram, their algorithm is somewhat of a mystery. The only way to see what works for your brand is to get inspired and get started!
