Instagram has been testing a new feed posting option from the desktop version of the app.

Which, for businesses, is great.

Having more options to upload Instagram content from your desktop PC, will give users the ability to post more polished, edited content created in photo and video editing programs.

This could come in handy for social media marketers, and those looking to centralize their social posting processes.

The new option adds a “+” icon to the top bar of the desktop version of Instagram. When clicked, it will allow users the option to upload images or videos directly from their PC or hard drive.

Right now, there’s no direct upload option on the desktop version of the app, but Instagram has been updating its PC functionality over time to add more options for users.

Using this new upload process, users still have all of the regular in-app options for their feed posts, including image formatting tools and filters. However, the option is currently only for feed posts. You cannot upload Stories or Reels just yet.

With the updates coming from Instagram, means businesses and general users will soon be able to upload  feed posts, Stories, Reels and IGTV content from their desktop.

These updates for desktops could make it easier to manage social media content from a central workspace, rather than having to log into the Instagram app to post your specific IG updates manually.
