Let’s be honest, It’s been a rough couple of months for Snapchat. But we still have faith in the social media platform, and firmly believe that if you are not utilizing Snapchat for your social media strategy, you are missing out on major brand exposure!

Now if you’re confused and are wondering how to incorporate Snapchat into your marketing initiatives, look no further! Here are 4 ways you can up your social media game on Snapchat.

Geofilter

Snapchat’s Geofilters allows Snapchatters to use location-specific filters and frames, to share it as a story or send it to their friends. Now the cool thing is, businesses have the opportunity to create fun filters that helps promote your brand further by uploading a business logo or a branded image.

It may seem like a difficult task, but Snapchat offers a step-by-step guide on how you can create a filter. Depending on the location/time of when you want the filter to run, it’s pretty cost effective.

We had a BLAST incorporating Snapchat into the social strategy for our friends over at The Bates Motel! During the duration of the Haunted Hayride and Attraction, we made sure the Geofilters were running effectively, and they were being used. The results were more than pleasing!

Targeting Your Competitors

So, while we were creating the Geofilters for The Bates Motel, we also had a devious idea to drop a location-specific filter around different attractions as well! We had a fun time starting a little “halloween rivalry” with the different haunts around the area.

This can be used for more than one ways for any business/brand. For example, imagine that you are a wedding dress designer and there is a wedding convention in town. Realistically speaking, you can’t hand out a business card to everyone who’s attending the convention, but you can capture their attention using social media.

By placing a location-specific filter around the perimeter of the convention, anyone using Snapchat will swipe across your branded filter and possibly use it.

Content Strategy

Because Snapchat is a video/image based social media platform, your digital strategy will be slightly different when uploading content.

The beauty of this is that you are given an opportunity to tell stories. Take advantage of the ability to create messages that disappear within 24 hours, and offer specials/coupons/discounts/etc., to drive more followers to your website and business.

Snapchat Takeover

A Snapchat takeover is exactly what it sounds like — an influencer taking over your business’ Snapchat account. Having someone who already has a large following on their own social media accounts help push your brand further. This will help increase traffic, sales, exposure and more.

There are different ways you can go about this, and not one strategy will be the same as the other. Different factors and variable you can be incorporated during a Snapchat takeover. For example, you can utilize different holidays (major and minor), local events, new products + updates to incorporate a Snapchat takeover into your social media strategy.

Which of these Snapchat strategies will try first?
