unnamed Soon enough, Facebook users will start to see fewer updates from Pages popping up on their News Feed. Instead, friend updates will reign supreme.

According to The Verge, users will see more posts in their News Feed of “friends they care about” higher up in their News Feed. Pages created by advertisers and brands will therefore appear less your News Feed.

TechCrunch also notes that brands will have to either work harder to attract users to their page, or buy more advertisements and increase ad spending to bump up their reach. In order for people that run pages on Facebook to keep traffic up, Facebook is pushing for an increase in content that the company wants to see, such as native videos.
