According to Mashable.com, Facebook believes that one day we will be able to connect with people via virtual reality apps. Users can eventually experience something though as they are physically there when they are not.

Chief product officer Chris Cox for Facebook addressed a group of people at the Code/Media conference on how the company plans to move forward and embrace virtual technology. In 2014 Facebook obtained a virtual-reality technology company Oculus VR for $2 billion.

While at the conference, Cox explained how film demos created for VR headsets will enable wearers to see and experience a whole new world. Cox predicts that this new technology advance will not be for a while.
