Article: How to Promote Your Event With Social Media Marketing
What better way to help facilitate the needs of a social event than social media marketing? The best way to plan out the social media strategy is in three parts—the pre-event, during event and (most importantly) post-event.
Pre-event
This is when the team should decide what tools they will use to monitor their success, the target audience, schedule event communication and devise a hashtag. During this stage, it is important to make sure that you make everything mobile-friendly. Having mobile friendly components makes it easy for people to register and interact prior to the actual event.
During the Event
This is where all your preliminary work in the first step gets put to work. Encourage people to use the hashtag you created and announce that there will be live tweeting during presentation—yes you need to live tweet. Another useful tool is to enable people at the event to ask questions directly to the speakers by using the hashtag that you created.
Post-event
All the chaos is over, but it’s not time to relax just yet. Take everything that was presented at the event and create blog posts online. The most important part of the post-event process is to use your social media platforms to thank the presenters and all the people that made the event happen in the first place.
