YouTube BrandConnect, formerly known as FameBit, is an influencer marketing platform rebranded to closely align with the YouTube platform. Google introduced BrandConnect in June to offer a more effective way to connect the right brands to the right creators. This will help create more meaningful content to viewers that will turn into customers.
What is Influencer Marketing?
Influencer marketing has been used for years. People watch videos with integrated product usage that usually is strung along with a coupon code or deal that lets users try new products with a low risk. The influencer marketing industry has been projected to grow to $15 billion by 2022.
What exactly is YouTube BrandConnect?
YouTube BrandConnect’s mission is to “bring insights, measurement, and industry expertise to influencer marketing – seamlessly connecting brands, creators, and fans.”
YouTube introduced BrandConnect to:
“Through YouTube BrandConnect, we’re making it easier for creators and brands to create branded content that is both authentic and effective. Our focus will continue to be supporting and driving revenue to creators, providing measurable campaigns for brands, and reaching viewers with authentic and relevant content. We’ve built unique, industry-first features within our branded content platform to support each of these goals.”
BrandConnect will serve as a hub for content creators to connect with brands and create brand content in a way that’s easier on both ends.
For creators, this platform will offer insights-based matchmaking tools to better connect brands with creators for a seamless process all the way through.
This will streamline the process in a more efficient way so the right brands get matched with the right creators for the job. This will also allow viewers to see content that is more purposeful and relevant to their buying habits.
How Is It Different From FameBit?
Another interesting feature of YouTube BrandConnect is a newly introduced ads technology. Viewers can buy products or download apps directly from the watch pages.
Since June, YouTube BrandConnect has already seen great results with branded content from creators such as Brave Wilderness, iJustine, The Icing Artist, and Molly Burke. This marketplace will offer support on both sides to streamline the processes after YouTube shut down the self-service program.
