Amazon and Twitter unveiled a joint new feature that allows users to add products to their Amazon shopping cart through a tweet.

As long as one has their Amazon and Twitter accounts synced, they can reply with #AmazonCart to any tweet that features a link to a product from the online retailer.

“Add it now, buy it later,” the video released by Amazon touting the new service said. “It’s that simple.”

And simplicity seems to be the key behind the integration of the two services. All it takes to consolidate shopping on both platforms is an 11-character tweet, and it gives users something extra out of syncing both accounts.

The integration now gives Twitter the opportunity to purvey e-commerce on its network while also monetizing it. Amazon also gets the opportunity to become the de facto retailer for Twitter transactions, and even further its online empire. Essentially, it’s a win-win for both sides.
