The Instagram Collaboration feature, also known as Instagram Collabs, is a new feature on Instagram that allows you to co-author a post or reel. The post will then be displayed on both co-author’s accounts, without both having to physically go through the process of posting it. Instagram Collab’s are aimed towards businesses, influencers, and creators, but any public account has access to the new feature. Posts that use the collab feature share views, likes, and comments, so it seems that it will be a useful feature for businesses looking to expand their audience on the platform.

 

How Do You Use Instagram Collabs?

It is very quick and simple to use the collab feature on Instagram. You will create your post as normal on the app, and then tap the “Tag People” button. Once you’re there, you will now see an “Invite Collaborator” option as well. From there, you can tag one other account to be the co-author of your post or reel. After you post, the person you invited to be a collaborator must accept your invitation in their DMs before it is shared on their feed and their username is displayed as a co-author.
