I love organizers, whether they’re online or ones I can hold in my hand. There are several excellent ones available online. I use two consistently to keep track of my life and what I’m working on.

Organizers can be divided into two main categories: calendars and planners.

1. Calendars

Since my work emails are both Google and my browser is Google Chrome, I use the Google calendar to track my work schedule, events, and meetings. I can color-code, set up repeating events, and have alarms. When something scheduled comes up, I have an alarm that beeps on my iPhone and a pop-up on my computer show up 10 minutes before the event. These calendars can also be shared with others.

2.  Planners

Keeping track of projects is important to me. I have two jobs, plus writing responsibilities, and I need to keep track of everything. I’ve been using Evernote for over a year and it has been a lifesaver! I have it as an app on my iPhone as well. This helps me feel secure in case my computer (heaven forbid!) should ever crash.

I love making lists and planning out steps to projects. Whenever I hear of a new online planner I have to check it out. Keep and Share and Zoho also have planners you can use.

Here are some others you may want to check out:

Simple or complicated, there are many choices out there for keeping track, organizing, and planning. Find what works for you. I feel less stress if I keep these things under control and it’s less likely to have something slip through the cracks.

The New Year is a good time to start using some of these organizing tools! Which ones do you prefer?
