bad rhino lokuta twitterTwitter’s Android app unrolled a new update Monday, making it easier for users to share and edit photos.

Users can rotate and crop photos to fit different aspect ratios, and can mention any friends in the photo.

“Over the past few months, we’ve made it easy to share and edit photos on Twitter,” engineer Matt Belland announced in a blog post. “Starting today, you can make the photos you post on Twitter even better.”

In addition to photo sharing, Twitter has improved discovery ever so slightly – if you swipe down on your home timeline and there are no Tweets to display, the user should expect to see recommended Tweets, trending topics and suggestions for various other accounts to follow.

News, sports and other current event updates will also display, but only for U.S. users, simplifying the process of joining conversations about any topic. This supplements swiping to various Discover tabs, further increasing opportunities to join conversation.

“It’s easier to find out about events and trends people are talking about on Twitter as they’re happening,” Belland’s post said.

The update is currently available for download in the Google Play store. While a similar update for iOS devices is not available at the moment, the social media giant expects one to be released shortly.
