This week, Twitter announced two new soon-to-debut features, one of which is the ability to send Direct Messages to a group of friends (up to 20 users). The group chat function does not require all involved participants to follow one another, and better yet, users will be notified when they are added to a group chat.

Twitter’s second order of business was to announce the ability to capture, edit and post 30-second videos. From the blog post: “The Twitter you experience today is rich and immersive, full of images, gifs, Vines, audio files and videos from some of the world’s most recognizable figures and brands. And starting today, everyone will soon be able to seamlessly capture, edit and share videos right from the Twitter app, too.”

As is the case with uploading photos, the ability to shoot and post videos is easy to do via the app, and iPhone users also have the ability to upload pre-recorded videos via the camera roll. A similar feature will be coming to Android users in the future.
