YouTube has now upgraded their comments section, integrating it with a user’s Google+ account.

Previously, comments were a long and unorganized list, with the most recent comments appearing first. Keeping track of conversations was nearly impossible until they allowed users to respond to each other. Top comments were ranked based on the most “thumbs up” a comment received from other YouTube users.

Now, keeping up with conversations is easier – they are all threaded, similar to Facebook’s reply feature. Top comments are also tailored to the user – people they have in a G+ circle will appear at the top of the comments section. Video creators and popular personalities also appear at the top of the comments section in addition to whoever can get the most “thumbs up.”

The user also has the choice to have comments sorted by the most recent comment as well.

YouTube has been a Google subsidiary since being acquired in 2006, and all of Google’s services are synced under one account. Now, Google has further consolidated its services by integrating Google+ with YouTube comments.
